And my two cents:
If the father does not re-enforce the mother's command, then there will not be success. There should never be any doubt that the father will back up what the mother has asked. Otherwise, the mother's commands have no weight and will be mocked or disregarded. And since the mother is usually the one home with the children most of every day, this is an important tip.
This also plays out when an older child must take care of youngers....the younger child must be disciplined for not obeying the older's command (if the older has been put in charge)
