Fruitful Vine

Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine, within your house, your children like olive plants around your table.

Oregon Coast

Last week, we traveled to Rockaway, Oregon, where my dh taught for the family camp put on by Reformation Covenant Church from Oregon City, Oregon. This is the 3rd time we've been, and I finally packed with the proper clothes. The weather can be cold or warm, wet or dry. In essence, one must pack just about everything! :-) We were blessed with cold rain the first two days, then sunshine the latter half of the week. I just love the folks from this church. They are such a delight to spend a week with. I had a walking buddy every morning at 6:30am. The children reconnected with old friends and made some new ones. Trips across the road to the beach were a daily occurrence. The church planned activities for the children of ALL ages during the times that dh wasn't teaching. And the week culminated with a talent show where folks presented serious and/or comedic displays, ranging from instrumental performance to a song played on a cataphony (an instrument played by pulling cats' tails) to a couple of stand-up comic routines. The camp itself is owned by the Quakers www.twinrocks.org but they rent out the facilities to groups too. My highlights were walking at 6:30am, the basketball tournament, trips to the beach, fellowship with the ladies, and most of all not cooking for a week!!
