Banana Cake with Chocolate Icing

 A few of my children used to ask for this as their birthday cake....

2/3 cup butter

1 2/3 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 1/4 cup banana puree (3)

2/3 cup buttermilk

2 1/2 cup sifted cake flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2/3 cup nuts, optional

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Stir in bananas. Alternate buttermilk with dry ingredients. Pour into 2 9" cake pans that have been greased, floured, lined with paper. Bake 30 min at 350.

Any recipe will do....
