Sandra Byrd trilogy
Piece de Resistance
Let Them Eat Cake
Bon Appetit
I read this trilogy by Sandra Byrd about a young woman who loved baking and decorating baked goods. Written by a Christian author, the books were void of sexual behavior, though full of searching for love. I enjoyed them because of the tidbits of baking, especially bread baking, which is a love of mine. Set in Seattle and then in a small town in France, I loved reading about the baking techniques, the surroundings, the people, the Christlike love, and the life struggles.
Also, it was inspiring to read of one church's attempt to employ, train, and put into the work force the homeless, jobless, and basically down-and-out folks. In the books, they were brought in, trained, and gradually given more responsibility.
